When I started my therapy practice years ago I remembered the first brochure I put out. I modeled it after what I saw other therapists doing and it included lots of vague and generic terms, such as “ helping you along life’s journey” and on the front I proudly noted I specialized in “child, adult, family therapy”. When I finally decided to stop struggling in my private practice and I was determined to be successful, I made a decision on whom I wanted to work with.

What I’ve found in working with other therapists, is that those without a niche continue to struggle to find clients for years, and those who make a commitment to choose a niche remarkably create results!
